Syllabus

Our classes provide a thorough introduction to Filipino (Tagalog) and include a wide range of themes and grammatical structures. We cover the five key skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing, and translating), and a good balance between communicative interactive skills. We understand that speaking in Filipino (Tagalog) is usually the main aim of a language learner, so we encourage students to speak from the very first lesson.

All our courses (Filipino 1 to Filipino 7) are for 10 weeks. Students are provided with an e-textbook which is uploaded to Google Classroom weekly. Supplementary activities are also provided to improve listening, writing, and speaking. We also provide students weekly with Quizlet sets to help increase vocabulary learning and fine-tune their pronunciation.

From our experience, we know that language teaching is also a means of imparting one’s culture. We, therefore, make sure that we share aspects of Filipino culture by sharing songs weekly as part of the varied activities we offer to make language learning enjoyable and engaging.
